Don's Family Law Blog It seems that any appeal filed henceforth in the Brisbane registry of the court will not be heard in 2011, but in 2012. That is a totally unacceptable delay. I recall that until comparatively recently, appeals from the Federal Magistrates Court were to a single judge of the Family Court of Australia. No longer, it seems. Why not? Three judges hearing appeals separately rather than as a Full Court would fix the problem quickly.
